Stand-Alone SteamSuperheater
All of the benefits of high-temperature steam are now available to operators of smaller low-pressure boilers, as well as retrofits to existing installations.
Cannon can service boilers from 25 HP to 600 HP and multiple units. Steam temperatures of up to 900° F can be realized with the Cannon design. Heavy-duty stainless steel internal construction will give this unit superior service life.
The Cannon unit has been designed for stand-alone operation. No tie-ins to your boiler control system are necessary. Easy installation consists of installing the steam lines to and from the superheater, running the gas and electric lines, and installing a stub stack. It is not inconceivable to be up and running within two days of delivery. Stand-alone not only refers to operation, but also safety. Our unit is designed with critical operation interlocks to insure a unit shutdown in the event of any superheater imbalance.
The heart of the Cannon Superheater is the modulating burner, controlled by steam outlet temperatures. This modulation allows the superheater to track steam flow. Our standard turndown ratio will meet or exceed most packaged boiler operations. The standard gas train supplied is to I.R.I specifications, or other specifications are also available. This train comes packaged on the superheater frame.
The standard Cannon Superheater requires natural gas or propane. An optional unit utilizing a power burner design is available for #2 oil fired applications. The tube materials can range from standard carbon steel, to high-alloy tubing for superheat temperatures of 900° F. An extended surface heat exchanger core allows for a more compact and cost effective unit.
