Cannon Economizers are customs designed for optimum heat recovery on boilers of 20,000 to 250,000 pounds per hour rating. Cannon will design your economizer for gas, oil, or for coal fired boilers or for a special waste gas steam. Cannon manufactures the nickel brazed helical finned tubes used in all its economizers. For those special applications with more corrosive flue gases, Cannon will supply various metallurgical combinations of tube and fin material engineered for maximum heat recovery and corrosion resistance. Optional Bulkhead Tube Sheet
A one piece steel bulkhead tube sheet provides tremendous strength to the economizer structure. It serves as the primary support for the tubes and headers; and, more importantly, forms a solid barrier preventing corrosive flue gases and fly ash from reaching the weakest part of all economizers ... the bare return bends. Keeping corrosive flue gases and fly ash off the return bends where most economizer failures occur is vital. In other economizers, fly ash deposits occur on colder return bends where where it will absorb moisture from the flue gas and accelerate corrosion, because soot blowing cannot reach the return bend area, proper cleaning cannot occur. |
Gas Seal Feature
The bulkhead tube sheet is designed for insertion or replacement of a single finned tube through the economizer. With tubes in place a special drawn steel tube seal is added to support the tube. This gas seal has a smooth surface which allows for linear expansion and contraction. These gas seals are welded into place in Cannon economizers. Corrosion problems are minimized because tight seals keep the fly ash and flue gases away from the highly vulnerable bare return bends.
